I am adding this post to my blog for my dear friend, and Publisher, Lacresha Hayes.  She is doing wonderful work for women/men in domestic violence cases and will go to D.C. this fall for a meeting for better laws for it.  Read her information below and visit her site to learn more.

Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse/Assault 

 
It's very rare that I involve myself with the affairs of others, but God gave me a cause a long time ago... to help victims of domestic and sexual assault.

I'm in the process of setting up an official website and the church is trying to get this building to use as a shelter for 7 families at a time. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by November 2008.

I will be going to D.C. in September seeking harsher penalties for predators. That trip costs money. I have a nice size support system in place, but we need your help.

Katie: Well for starters, would you call me Katie, as it doesn't sound so formal? I am first and most importantly, a child of GOD. I am a wife to my soul-mate hubby, mother of two beautiful daughters, gramma to six adorable grandchildren and an online friend/minister to many friends across the globe. I am a first-time Author to several kiddie books. Me: What was your inspiration in becoming an author?
Katie: I have loved writing even when I was in school I have always told stories to my children when they were young and growing up (even into teen years) and so it was natural to begin to write the thoughts that flooded my head onto paper! Sometimes the stories come to me so quickly, like a diver coming up for air, and I just have to write them down and get them out of my head! That was probably the early beginnings of my writing.
